I had this very frequently (almost 50%) with that version of Java 1.5.0_06 on my FreeBSD system. I upgraded to JDK 1.5.0_07 and it went away.

It works fine for me with version 1.5.0_04 of the JRE. Also, Java is not an acronym and as such, all the letters aren't capitalised.

Wow, a grammar lesson...
As for your problem, verify that you have a link and not a copy of the plugin file in your plugins folder.

Actually the latest is revision 08 but that wasn't available on FreeBSD at the time.

doesn't work for me.
{ but then I didn't expect it to ]
no java support at all on my box.

when there is one jre that will power all java apps, then I'll install support, until then java is broken beyond usability.

The site can't be responsible.
I guess the problem lies either on the JVM or in a linked native library.

Have you a bugreport ID ?
