java and netscape
Hello,
I have downloaded the java plugin and I have made a link to it in my netscape/plugins folder. When I run netscape and go to a page that requires java I get this error message:
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Exec of "java_vm" failed: 2
<
System error?:: No such file or directory
Gdk-ERROR **: Fatal IO error 9 (Bad file descriptor) on X server :0.0.
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Could not read ack from browser
System error?:: Resource temporarily unavailable
What does this mean and is there an easy wat to fix it?
Thanks,
|

ln -s
This creates a soft link. Notice the space.
Also, show us the full command you used:
ln -s /path/to/java/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin.so /usr/lib/netscape/plugins/libjavaplugin.so
Or whatever.
But show us the full thing....
Cool

ok, that was the problem.
I was in the same directory as the plugin and just typed ln -s libjavaplugin.so instead of the full path. It seems to work now though. Thanks for the help!
thanks

You're welcome Sometimes the man pages can be confusing, but you should try to at least give em a look once in a while
