Points of interest seem to be:
Code:
02:10:16.313 artsshell -q terminate
02:10:16.741 Startup script terminated with exit status=256.
I was orginally getting an error here that said "artsshell: command not found" so I installed artsshell but it's still failing here for some other reason.

also:
Code:
*** buffer overflow detected ***: /usr/bin/jackd terminated
I'm using Fedora 12 64bit

I would really appreciate any help, thanks

Check if Jack is not crashing due to a latency problem.
On my Debian Lenny: I use this line to know the latency.
Code:
cat /proc/sys/dev/hpet/max-user-freq
If not 1024 then:
Code:
echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/hpet/max-user-freq
Then try starting Jack again. If it work you can set that figure permanently, add this line to your /etc/rc.d/rc.local
Code:
echo 1024 > /proc/sys/dev/hpet/max-user-freq
On my Mandriva computer: I use this line to know the latency.
Code:
cat /proc/sys/dev/hpet/max-user-freq
or depending on version of Mandriva
Code:
cat /proc/sys/dev/rtc/max-user-freq
For programs like Ardour you better off with a Multimedia distro:
