We welcome you to the forum, but where do you get the idea that anyone will snap to attention just because you say it is urgent and please reply as fast as possible? Are you aware that many of your potential helpers are still asleep?

You are going to have to supply a lot more information:
Describe your network setup--eg do you have both wired and wireless? cable or DSL? does the wired connection work? Static IP or DHCP?

I don't know if it is relevant, but Fedora 8 is pretty out of date---the latest is I think 11.

Finally, please change your thread title to something more descriptive.

Oh yes, it's "please", not "plzzzzzz"

Hello Playboy,

I would say ,your F8 isn't supported any longer.

By experience I now that it also haven't great support for wi-fi .
It's doable but cumbersome (not for newbie).

So I suggest an new install with Fedora 11 (stable) ,witch does have
a far better (and easier) support for it.

If you still have troubles ,then sent a message.

Greetings

Martin

PS

with " not for newbie " ,I meant : knowledge to
recompile the kernel and modules ,also a lot of
other "command line stuff" .F11 is great ,all will
work out of the box . Well mostly

I'm now working on & with F12(rawhide)

Greetings from Flanders (Belgium)

Given that it's now over 24 hours since the original question, we might reasonably conclude that it really was not that urgent...
