iTalc and Edubuntu 10.10

I'm trying to set up iTalc in Edubuntu 10.10 for a school. I followed the instructions as indicated on, but when i try to run iTalc i'm getting an error stating "ITALC service not running or authentication keys not set up correctly". (I have found similiar reports online, but no solutions see :

Any suggestions what i can try to just get it running to some degree. Ultimetely, i want to run a bunch of thin clients(students), and the teacher needs to be able to monitor them using italc.

Any suggestion will really be appreciated.

Did you check what it says?

See the section on 'Setup authentication keys'

CLI output?

Thanks. i got the master working, although i must say i'm not sure what i did wrong the first time. I just redid it from scratch and it worked.

Now i;m trying to get my thin clients to be picked up by the master. As i understand it i need to start the italc client when the thin client logs in
in some way correct? I found the following script and added it
in /etc/gdc/PreSession/Default(the sample is for kde), but does not look like its being called when the thin clients logs in, hence i cannot access it
from the italc master.

root@edubuntu:/etc/gdm/PreSession# ps ax | grep /usr/bin/ica
 4305 ? Sl 0:03 /usr/bin/ica -noshm -ivsport 11000 -isdport 5800 -display :0
 4394 ? S 0:01 /usr/bin/ica -rx11vs -noshm -nosel -nosetclipboard -rfbport 11000 -rx11vs -isdport 5800 -role other
 5574 pts/1 S+ 0:00 grep --color=auto /usr/bin/ica
Process 4305 is for my login on the server itself, and i see no instance of ica for the thin client, and i expect i need to see one correct?

Its my first go at something like this, so i'm a bit clueless at the moment.
