issues with virtual machines
 

in order to run paltalk on a windows XP virtual machine, i need the VM to be undetectable by paltalk.. unfortunately, the virtualbox installation though running incredibly smoothly, was detected as being a virtual machine and therefor, paltalk didnt work with it..

qemu on the other hand works, but its so slow, voice lags, and there arent even guest features like automatically capturing the cursor, automatic resize, none of it.. qemu pretty much sucks for anything useful

so is there any way to make qemu faster, smoother, and able to have more guest features

and is there any way to make virtualbox more undetectable?

Might be worth looking into.

i cant undestand why some people love qemu so much though.. its harder to detect which is good, but its slow, no guest additions, if only they could offer the same stealth features of qemu onto virtualbox

it would really help if i knew how certain programs were detecting theyre inside a virtual machine?

Have you tried vmware or Bochs?(\List of virtual machine software)

And I would also ask, why do they care? Especially when they're free programs like paltalk?

It doesn't matter why they do it, but for the LQ Rules it matters that they do it. Questions about circumventing restrictions in proprietary software are falling under the cracking rule and are therefore not allowed on LQ.
