Issues with Thunar and auto-mounting NTFS 1TB USB drive on Slackware.

[SOLVED]
Distro: Slackware 14
Kernel Version: 4.14.15
Default Desktop: KDE
Current Desktop: herbstluftwm
Login Manager: NA / Xinitrc
*EDIT*
List of installed packages:
https://pastebin.com/fiFA3uMD

I'm having issues getting Thunar to auto-mount my USB NTFS hard drive. My account is a member of the plugdev group. Dolphin auto-mounts them just fine, even when running in herbstluftwm. If I un-mount the drive, close Dolphin, open Thunar and plug the hard drive in, the drive will not show up in Thunar. The drive has to be mounted in Dolphin first if I want to be able to access it by using Thunar. Volume Management is enabled, "Mount removable drives when hot-plugged" and "Mount removable media when inserted" are enabled as well. My goal is to remove KDE and all kde packages so I can have a more lean system with some freed up space which is why I'm switching to Thunar.

Current Desktop: herbstluftwm:
is that like a bare bones WM?
Code:
# Start DBUS session bus:
 if test -z "$DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS" ; then
    eval `dbus-launch --sh-syntax --exit-with-session`
    export DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS
 fi
in autostart might help ...
that is what I use in WMaker, Fluxbox, openbox....

The solution in post #3 is correct when you boot to run level 3 and then do 'startx'. Thanks to BW-userx for the response.
