I am trying to feed a sound input through my system sound. I chose jack control to try and bridge the mic into the main sound output. For some reason I cannot seem to get any sound.
My regular sound works fine. I checked alsamixer to make sure nothing was muted. I also went into pulseaudio and made sure nothing was muted.
In pulseaudio I can see the bar bouncing from where the mic sound is coming in but it never feeds into the speakers along with the system sound.
I tried vu-bridge to test the capture_1&2 that was listed in jackcontrol but when I bridge them it is a flat line.
As far as I can tell nothing is muted and the sound is reaching the pulseaudio server.
I tried starting the jack_control service and it launched with no issues. Also and pulseaudio seem to be fully functional...
I can print any terminal information needed, I am just not sure what would help for info.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am trying to switch into LMMS on Linux.
Yes it is. I am pretty lost to be honest, I have tried unmuting everything and trying each varying setting. I even checked my wires going in and everything seems fine....
I get no errors in the log of jackcontrol either. Checked system sounds and volumes and everything is set. Regular sounds work (e.g. youtube and players, system sounds etc)..
Pulseaudio recognizes that the plug is in and is detecting it. Seems almost like jackcontrol is not actually bridging the connections. Is there a way to test the pulseaudio input without jackcontrol?
Ok so now I am noticing there are no devices under the "recording devices" section of pulseaudio, there are only devices through the "input devices" section of it..
I got audacity to record for a min using the pulseaudio driver, but I still cannot get it to automatically route through the main output. It seems I need some medium like Audacity to be recording it, and even then it was a playback after recording type of thing. I want the mic to continously feed into the system sound...
I have HDMI controllers and I think having that as a primary setting is not allowing ALSA to pick up on my mics. I am pretty sure only pulseaudio is listening to the mics. ALSA claims to have only one input. How can I change ALSA's default card? I tried changing the backend settings in the KDE system sounds but it always reverts right back to the high deff control..
