Issues with Aspell, it's library, and Gaim

Ok, I installed aspell and all the other deps (I hope) and when I try to "make" Gaim in the term, I get the following message:

libtool: link: cannot find the library '/usr/lib/libaspell.la'

but when I did the whois command, I get:

aspell: /usr/bin/aspell /usr/lib/aspell /usr/local/bin/aspell /usr/share/aspell

which seems odd. Do I need an older version of Aspell? I currently have aspell-0.50.3 installed. And yes, I do realize that I have another message on page 2 as of now but that was originally for a different problem and I couldn't delete/edit the title so I decided to wait and now I made this. Thanks for any help!

Ok, I'm in root and I just found the file and replaced it but now I can't find a

I did a whereis but couldnt find it. What do I have to dl to get this file? Thanks

try www.rpmfind.net to look up what rpm file would give you this dependency. You don't have to download the rpm, but its useful to find out what package name you have to google for.
