issues installing wireshark on redhat enterprise
 

Hi guys, i am new to the forum as well as very new to redhat OS.

Currently i have a server which is hosting some files and i would like to utilise wireshark to observe the packet flow of different connections, here comes a little proble, i have downloaded the installation file from wireshark.org (rpm file) when i was installing i was met with this error,

i have no issues when i tried to run on windows but i dont really want to switch my server to windows even until the last resort. Any advice or help is deeply appreciated.

well you have dependencies... install them.

In actual fact, redhat comes with wireshark, I wouldn't recommend going and getting it yourself unless that are fixes / features in the very newest version you need. just run "yum install wireshark-gnome" instead (assuming you're using rhel5) if it's rhel4 or earlier, install from the installation media.
