Issue using fullscreen with Pete's (peops) plugin for PSX emulators with NVIDIA...

SOLVED - Scroll to bottom for fix.

I've been trying to google a solution to the problem with no luck, so I thought I'd post it here. I'm trying to use ANY PSX emulator with Pete's OpenGL plugin coupled with the proprietary NVIDIA driver. My card is a GTX 550 Ti. Anyway, it works fine as long as you don't select fullscreen. If you do, however, the screen blanks for about a minute. Then, the music begins, with a blank screen. However, by moving the mouse, I was able to discover that I'm actually running four screens and my game is in the bottom left corner, only in the wrong resolution. Trying to hit ESC (in either PCSX-R 1.93 or ePSXe 1.6 or 1.9) and shut down the program causes X to crash.

Now, I've tried this on three distros, Slackware, Mageia and Manjaro (I'm somewhat of a distro hopper). I have used KDE, GNOME, LXDE and even pure OpenBox as window managers. No matter the distro or WM, Fullscreen works fine using Pete's plugin with Nouveau or using the proprietary driver and NOT fullscreen. I have tried every possible config of the plugin and nothing fixes the issues. Any ideas?

EDIT: I'm not going to mark this as solved, but since I haven't found a solution, I have found an alternative that I'm posting for other LQ readers/Google. I ended up using PCSX2 (which is a PS2 emulator) instead, which has its own OpenGL plug in. This does work fine in fullscreen, the only caveat is that sound will not work properly for me with PulseAudio (some sort of a conflict due to it being 32 bit whereas PCSX-R is 64 bit). Also, its' OpenGL plugin is nowhere near the quality of Pete's for improving on PSX games, but it is better than the default XVideo plugin for PCSX-R (which is meant to accurately emulate the games as they would have been on real PSX hardware and works perfectly with the proprietary NVIDIA driver).

2nd EDIT: After much tweaking, I have figured it out. For whatever reason, the peops plugin does not play well with the proprietary driver in terms of setting resolutions. The only fix is to manually do this. So, here is the config that worked for me in PCSX-R (never did get it straightened out in ePSXe): Under graphics, check Fullscreen. Then, manually type in the window resoluation: Either 1920x1080 for widescreen or 1440x1080 to keep the original 4:3. It will now function properly, you can hit ESC to close the program without crashing X, and you are good to go. Whew!
