isight , ichat and clinet for linux


Hi, I have a mac at home with isight and ichat . I need to connect via from my fc4 linux box. What client would people recommend? I think my only option is to move to ivist or squidcam instead of ichat?

You're trying to do webcams in Linux...
I attempted that in my eariler years, and wasn't
successful, so I wish you the best of luck.

From a chat (i.e. text) point of view, iChat uses AOL's
messenger AIM for it.

Both Kopete and GAIM should be able to log you into
your account, or to crate a new one.

I was in the same situation with my girlfriend,
and we discovered that iChat can ONLY SHARE
WEBCAM WITH OTHER MACS.

This was not good news... I think the closest we
got was Yahoo.

Moving away from iChat is neccessary I think.

thanks. yes, i am looking to use the isight webcam. I'm pretty 100% sure now that I have to move away from ichat to use it cross platform.
I'm going to have to use ivisit or squidcam
