Question Is wineserver running with my Wine?

Hi guys.

I use the hotkey Ctrl+Alt+w to kill any running Wine program/game. The command used is:
Code:
wineserver -k
However even though I can see wineserver in MATE System Monitor, this is the output:
Code:
bash: wineserver: command not found
Can someone explain this? Is there a fix?

Thanks.

Have you tried this?
Code:
pkill wineserver

Hi BC. That causes the wine program to freeze but does not kill it. We are making progress though.

Code:
pkill -9 wineserver
That gives it more priority. Or
Code:
sudo pkill -9 wineserver
gives it authority.

Both do the same as 'pkill wineserver' - it causes the wine program to just hang. I can use my xkill hotkey to kill the window - however this is not ideal with a full screen wine game for example.

I kill the application and the wineserver dies itself.

Code:
skill -9 <whatever.exe>

That would not be practical as I use a pre-set hotkey.

Oddly, my original hotkey seems to work fine now.
