Is Wine the best option for loading a driver?

I want to load a printer driver for my Lexmark Z22 I do have the printer cd Also from using my Knoppix cd, I know, that the Z22 is a compatible printer. (works fine with Knoppix). Is Wine the best option for loading drivers, I also have a camera that I would like to load a driver for. Thanks

no.
if it works with knoppix, you can be sure that it works witout running propriety drivers etc. using wine. did you google for it yet?

Yes, I found this article that was interesting but I don't want to have to pay for software for Linux.

http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_pr...um=Lexmark-Z22

Has some details about using that printer with linux. Support looks b/w only, but if you search around a bit I wouldn't be surprised if someone has written a driver, or if there's some alternative.
