Is VNC Possible to use at the logon screen?

Is there any possible way to configure VNCserver so that I can VNC into the PC at the logon screen? Otherwise I have to log into the PC to get past the logon screen, then VNC into the machine. Is there anyways to make it so that I can VNC directly to the logon screen. The reason for this is because I want to move the PC to a remote location and will not be their in case I need a reboot for a newer kernel.

Thanks in advance!

Here's a guide for fedora, you'll have to translate a bit for Ubuntu

I'd say you're trying to export the :0 display. I do this often and its easy to setup.
Go to the www.realvnc.com web site, click on FAQ, and then on
"Can I remote the normal X:0 display of my Unix workstation?"
