So , it is not a problem....

I read all the 4 pages and exactly follow with them ........ after that to start a service..... after make command succesfull...... i type the following command .....
./jabberd/jabber -h redhat (redhat is my local system name)
then I didn't get any message and also the command prompt... So what I Assume whether it is sucessfully started ? or not.....
If it is successful then Can I installed Jabber client...?

to establish a network can i change this IP Address (Local) with my Original Machine IP Address....

run #netstat -a [to see if the jabber server u've installed is running on the port u've assigned]

Yes you can change it later to any Ip-addr(local), install gaim and try to connect to the server.

By the way Usual..... I got this message from the above code ...

It is My PC's IP Address( 202.9.126.23)

So Could I change the Port to 5222/5223 in jabber.xml file

those are u browser connections to the internet..

Please read more .. about what you wanna accomplish...
if it says Port to 5222/5223 then do it..

do every thing thats metioned in the guide....

Everything is ok ... I followed exactly whatever in the 4 pages.....

Still I didn't found whether it is started or not...... I checked Errot.log file ... Look at my Error Log File...

Except these two errors.....remaining error"Jabberd Shutting down" are raised when i pressed Ctrl + C from the terminal....
from this can I concluded that Jabbered server was started .....
or any other process is there to check whether it is started or not....

if it is started can I download client from net and Installed ..... if all wright then please which client is best for Redhat Linux 9 to installed...

when ever i am trying to install a gaim paclkage i got some errors ....but I Installed A Jabber Client Package named gabber-0.8.8-1.src.rpm..... now next step may be i have to registered this user with Jabber server......
Is this gabber could work efiicient as gaim or not?
Now my time was over may be continue on monday... bye for now......Have a nice holiday.............

Hi Usual.... Today I am trying to install jabber.wbm.gz which u mentioned earlier....
i download from the site which u mentioned .... look my procedure..

[root@redhat root]# tar zxcvf jabber.wbm.gz
its ok....

then i change the directory to jabber just like ....
[root@redhat root ]# cd jabber

but whenever i am trying to configure then i got the error message like ....
[root@redhat jabber ]# ./config
-bash: ./config: Permission denied......
I change the permissions of jabber to 777 then also i get the same error message...

I would really appreciate if somebody helps me regarding this issue....

Now I have Jabber Server and Gabber Client ..... But How to Register an Account in Jabber Server I don't know...... I am trying on the google by searching.... But I am not able to got Idea... Usual Plz help me how to continue.......
