is there any voice to text software


i want a program that can convert my voice recording from the microphone to text on a word processor, is there such a program. how do I install it and use it. and is it free and for Linux because I don't want to use virtualbox and I don't have windows any more but unless it works with wine it will do

those are voice recognition programs I'm talking about a program that can turn speech into text, you talk into the microphone and it converts them into words and letters in a word processor or something

but VEDICS was a decent voice recognition program but it has a long way to go still, it only recognised the commands that were in the read me. but for words like "places" because I wanted it to select places at the top of the screen didn't work after it said that it would. but the site never told me that it would convert speech to text, it only said it would execute programs that are recognised speech commands
