Cool Is there any kernel hack to perform Hibernation in ubuntu 8.10


Hello every one , i knw my linux distribution do support hibernation,but not working properly , how do i enable it, i believe it can be done by reconfiguring kernel, can anybody help me out to perform ..

The kernel configuration necessary for hibernation should already be present in Ubuntu's kernel packages.

Make sure you're using a kernel version of at least 2.6.27 (I think that's what's in 8.10 so you should be using it already) - 2.6.26 has hibernation bugs. Also make sure you've enabled suspend/hibernation in your BIOS. The problem could be any number of things though...

If you more thoroughly described the manner in which hibernation is failing, the chances of someone being able to give you a better answer than this one will be much higher.
