is there a program that can view and print sheet music from a midi file

i used to use notation player to do this in windows, although it works under wine i don't have the ability to print or print as a pdf file so i was wondering if theres a good alternative

I've used MuseScore. It is supposed to be able to import a MIDI file, although I haven't done it. It does work well for everything else, though.

will it show sheet mucis and will it allow me to select which instrument to select or do i have to disable all but the desired instrument in anvil studios which sorta works in wine

I'm not sure. Like I said I haven't imported any midi files. It's free, though, so download it and give it a shot.

Rosegarden ist imho the best option.
If you just wanna print, there are also lightweight programs, like nted for gnome or notepad for kde. Apart from musescore, which has already been mentioned.
