Is there a good software for Video-over-IP?

Hi,

is there a good stable open-source vod solution for linux?
Does someone have experience with video streaming and know the requirements or possibilities?

That's what VLC is all about. If it doesn't meet your needs, come up with a list of requirements and we might be better able to find a software match.

it seems to be a very nice opensource vod solution, thanks for the link. Do you have experience with it? Have you installed it before?

VLC is one of the most popular pieces of open source software on Earth. I'm pretty sure more people have installed it than have installed Linux.
