Is there a good GTK-based photo manager other than Shotwell?

Shotwell can't handle too many images, is slow to load, and often crashes when editing tags.

Is there anything else that is GTK-based, supports tagging, and is fast?

the borderline between image viewers and photo managers is very foggy.
there's quite a few of both.
have you tried your package manager's search functions?
i use geeqie, but i'm not sure it supports tagging.
i guess it would be possible to assign a hotkey to an external app, though.

i just noticed that my trusted geeqie-gtk2 won't support raw camera files anymore, and installed rawtherapee.
i really like it, it's gtk2 and certainly more lightweight than shotwell. it supports metadata editing.

I also use geeqie as my default viewer but it doesn't really do much to manage your collection.

I broke down and installed kdelibs to try digikam but all it does is give me segmentation fault.

I have a (perhaps irrational) phobia of google software, but I just installed picasa on wine and it runs great and is possibly the best photo manager software out there. So I'm using that now.

I have one (only one) KDE system - for my photos. And only because of a desire to use digiKam natively.

Yes, it's that good IMHO.
