Unhappy Is my WINE installed?

I cannot get my internet working without opening a few .exe files from a cd so I d/l WINE onto another computer and then splitted it up into floppy chunks with a multi-platform file splitter. I (think) the RPM file installed okay (there were no error messages) but i can't seem to get wine working.

I'm a noob btw.

Does wine have a GUI
how can i tell its installed properly
How can i open an exe file with it

I might well be asking a few more questions......

Run this:
wine [program]
If it says '.wine directory not found' or similar, it is installed, but not configured properly. If it says 'wine: command not found' or similar, it is not installed properly. Wine comes with a gui tool for configuring, 'winecfg', but I'm not sure how good it is. There are other gui tools, look at this site for links to them and help with Wine:
