How can I hijack my own thread?

It's a shame about compiz, but I guess people will just have to go without from now on.

I'm still not sure about LMDE vs Debian, so I'm trying out both.

Easy. Just start out with one topic and then change to another.

I think I've found a winner with Debian Jessie and XFCE with Kwin and the Whisker menu.

Thanks everyone.

Edit: And compiz was an important part of knowing which distro I should go for. It is relevant to this topic. But I can use Kwin instead of compiz with Xfce, which seems to be a very nice mix. I'm downloading the CD debian now as the netinstaller didn't connect to my wifi properly. I'm installing stable and then I will upgrade to testing afterwards.
