You can try. I don't know how dreamweaver saves its projects. If it's a bunch of html/css/javascript, etc files then I don't see a problem here. If, however, it saves it as a package with some dreamweaver-specific extension than you'll probably have to play with it a bit to extract the source files. I don't know if that's even possible.
Not to discourage you from attending your course, but if you want to learn how to develop websites you'd be much better off learning html/css/jquery or even CMS like Drupal/Joomla or Xmod. You're not going to learn much from Dreamweaver (apart from how to use dreamweaver). I know that your course is free, but if I were you, I wouldn't waste time on Dreamweaver.
This is, however, only my personal opinion so you have the perfect right to ignore it
