Is it possible to use SLES as a mail server WITHOUT ldap?

Or how can I configure the LDAP after tyhe installation has been finished?

I want to set a SLES server as a mail server. I had configured it to use local authentication.... no LDAP, but when I tried to configure it as a mail server, I hit the wall of having to set up LDAP. Asd I've been unable to do so.... can anybody tell me how to do this?

I set up postfix to handle mail for the domain used at the office... but when I try to send mails, it seems it's still using LDAP (which isen't configured)... and so it rejects mails (is it procmail???).

I think I have already set up a pop3 service... but haven't been able to use it because I haven'ty been able to send a single message.

So.... what do you think? Can you help me in any of the two directions? LDAP or "plain" SMTP (without LDAP).
