Is it possible to port Visual Basic in Linux?

Hi! I am only using Windows to debug our VB Applications and running under Microsoft Access. Now, has anyone tried porting Visual Basic and Microsoft Access in Linux? I've tried VMWare but my machine is just too slow.

Hmm..I remember somebody asking about something like this in the past; have you tried searching the forums, since that post might be of help? I'm sorry if I just don't remember it correctly, but I feel like somebody had asked this before.

I don't come up with anything other than VMware or Wine, but the latter won't run too well on x86_64 (you have to force installing 32-bit version) and even if you have 32-bit version or manage to get it working on a x86_64, there's a big chance it can't run VB nor Access. But there is also a chance it will..

Do you want to port the code or just make it run? If you want to port the code, then a reasonable solution would be to use Gambas (similar to VB) and change the DB backend to SQLite or even MySQL or PostgreSQL.

I've heard about Gambas but what I want is to totally run VB in Linux. I am not good in using wine. But if someone have tried it before and worked then I will appreciate if he/she will share his' solutions. Thanks.
