Is it possible to extract Pocket PC .cab files from .exe installers in Linux?

Does anyone know of any tools like this one http://www.pocketmac.net/cabextractor.htm
that are available on Linux? I've just installed SynCE, which works well, but, understandably, can only install .cab files. I'm currently emerging wine, to try that out, but I'd much prefer a Linux-based tool.

The synCE project page on sourceforge has utilities for extracting the .cab files (I seem to remember).

Simon

BTW: do us a favor and trawl through the Synce problems and see if there is anything you can add in the way of enlightenment. Most of us cannot get a connection at all so a blow-by-blow account of how you did it, even if you don't know what we're doing wrong, could provide a vital clue.

Specifically, the modules involved for ipaq/journada support would be nice; the iptables setting; that sort of thing.
