Is it OK to use 2.6.16 patch on 2.6.14.2 kernel?

I'm trying to patch my loop-AES kernel source, so I can build a kernel with good crypto support. Thanks.

I would think that wouldn't be ok (to use a 2.6.16.x patch on a 2.6.14.x kernel) but I don't know.

Peace...

the only safe way is to also apply every patch between the two releases in order. it will be a total crap shoot otherwise.

Thanks, I'll just upgrade my kernel. One of the things I hate most about upgrading my kernel is that I loose my sound for a period of time. So I have to reinstall ALSA.
