Is it a good idea to run beryl on a system with low specs?

My computer is old here is what its got:
4megs of vram.
intel pentium 2 (350mhz).
383mb of ram.
runs 1024x768 @ 32 bit color.

I am using xubuntu.

another note is that I will only be using it for water and rain affects , but I will try to keep it as 2d as possible.

Do you think this is okay or will it lag like a commodore 64 on a cold winter night?

Help would be great!!:) :study:

By your computer specs I am amazed that it can run Xubuntu. The only thing you got good there is the RAM memory. If you try to run Beryl on it would probably begin to act like a beta version of Win Vista :)

I actually had to use the alt installer but it works like a charm.

An oldie ... ;)

I suppose you might get Beryl to work, but I doubt it would be smooth. You would have to have a video chip that supports AIGLX, also.

Good luck. :)
