Is ippusxd flawed? Should it be removed?

I have a laptop with Mint 20.1 Cinnamon 4.8.6

I see mention on the internet that Mint 20 ippusbxd is flawed - apparently it's messing up printing - and should be removed.

https://linuxmint-user-guide.readthe.../printers.html

Is this true, and if so, how do I do this?

Thanks.

I did a web search for ippusxd and the only result I found is this thread.

Can you tell us precisely what you heard and where you heard it, with a link if possible?

Linux Mint comes with Synaptic Package Manager, great app for getting information. There are packages in Mint repositories called "ippusbxd and ipp-usb"
Quote:
ippusbxd is a userland driver for USB devices supporting the IPP USB
specification. It enables these USB printers to be seen as regular
network IPP printers.
If you don't need this driver, check see if it's installed with the first command below, if installed, remove with the second command:
Code:
apt list --installed | grep ippusbxd
sudo apt remove ippusbxd
Or right click on it in Synaptic and select "remove/completely remove/Apply".
