Is anyone experiencing very long connect times with youtube-dl

Hi

I've been using youtube-dl for a long time and is an amazing program and worked flawlessly for years without an issue.

However, lately it's has bee taking a long, long time to connect to the youtube servers to download the videos.

I even updated youtube-dl with the -U switch.

Not sure if it's me only, but I want to know if anyone is having the same issue with youtube-dl.

PS: I am curious can my ISP or youtube.com be throttling my connections?

PPS: What's weird is playing videos from youtube.com plays just fine and just as fast in the web browser. No long or slow connection issues...

There are several youtube downloaders for firefox. The one I use provides a Download button that appears just below all videos on youtube. The addon is labeled as "Download youtube videos as mp4 1.8.1".
(Just in case you weren't aware).
