Question IRC Server


Hello
Does any one have any suggestions for a software i can use to make an IRC server on redhat 9?

are you sure you DO want to make a brand new IRC server?

However i would use just an editor like vi and a compiler like gcc
Seriously talking... if you want to make an IRC server which work good also under stress conditions i think you should just write in C and use Unix Sockets... Nothing more!

Im sure i want to make a brand new server. I have no idea how to write a program

Snake, you might want to look into Bahamut (http://bahamut.dal.net/). It doesn't have an rpm, but it does have a page about how to install and set it up under the documentation section.

Be warned that IRC servers are the most commonly attacked hosts on the Internet. You might want to read up on security....a lot.

OK thanks for the warning i'll search for stuff bout IRC Security. Thanks Bahamut is exactly wat i needed. Thanks :-)

Hey on Bahamut when i type make install after configureing it and running make it says :

installing ircd as /home/SolidSnake/ircd/ircd
install: src/ircd does not exist

so i cant start the deamon :-(
Any 1 know how to fix this?
