How do i set up an IRC server?
what do i need to do to make an irc.foo.ca ?

I have installed ircd, (apt-get) and i couldn't find ircd on my computer, i found ircd-ircu, and when i tried to run it, it said
# ircd-ircu
ERROR: This server will not run as superuser.

and i dont have permission to run it as a normal user...
please help, thanks

maybe as root try to change permissions on the executable to allow a normal user to run it...what is the error you get when trying to run as normal user?
what are the present permissions set on ircd-ircu ?
