irc Client

Hi,

I'm a bit of a n00b I guess, but I do have some UNIX training and a bit of RedHat/Fedora experience ;o)

I've started dual booting my laptop with SuSe 10.1 and I like it.

I'm now trying to find software for it.

I've got XCHAT and irc client which I'm trying to install. I got the x86 suse10.1 .rpm.

When I try to install it it says certain libs are missing, but I know those are tcl libs...

Can anyone point me in the right direction with this>?

I guess another question is does anyone have any recomendations for irc clients? I need SSL functionality.

I guess I need openssl on this laptop too (in the linux install!)

Thanks in advance.

post the message that you get, so that we can help you out on which other rpms you need to install.

irssi, it seems to be better than xchat.

yup your right, you need to install openssl too.

what you could do is use yast to install all these files, it would be much simpler. All the dependencies would be resolved automatically.

you can go in the terminal and type, xchat or irssi. To create a desktop icon just right click on the desktop and select create launcher or anything similar adn type in xchat or irssi in it.
