I have a laptop with the ipw2200 b/g wireless card running slackware 10.2 I am using a 2.6.15.4 kernel. I was able to successfully recompile my kernel without ipw2200 drivers and compile the driver modules myself. However, even though I am able to connect to a wireless network and use the Internet, I am unable to capture packets in promiscuous mode with ethereal. I have tried multiple versions of the ipw2200 drivers with different versions of the firmware. I can always get the drivers up and running, but they just wont capture in promiscuous mode. Any ideas on what to do about this, I have been googling for a solution for a week and can't find anything on the issue.

What really bugs me is this works perfectly in windoze, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
