iptables refusing to stop

When I go to shutdown my computer, it always hangs on stopping iptables. I can start and stop iptables fine while the computer is working, and I have tried upgrading it using apt-get. I am going to try uninstalling it and reinstalling it to see if that helps, but if not, anyone have any ideas. I am running FC3 2.6.9-1.667.stk16 kernel and a wireless and wired connection simultaneously.

Did you comp hangs, when you shutdown with iptables pre-deactivated?

Well I managed to get it to shutdown this time. All I did was flush the iptables rules with iptables --flush then reset it using system-config-securitylevel (the fedora configuration tool for iptables) It seems to work now!
