iptables module problem


I have followed the iptables gentoo wiki guide ( http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Iptables_for_newbies ) but on boot it cant find the iptable modules. I have no idea what to do.

Did you build the iptables modules into your kernel, or as modules?

I know i selected them as modules ("M") but now when i double checked, they were selected as built in the kernel ("*").. Strange.

And you still receive the error about it being unable to find them? You are running the commands as root, correct?

No, i received that on boot, so i removed the entries from /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6

and rebooted and now iptables works like a charm, thanks for the help though.
