iPod not able to be mounted after attempting to install Rockbox

I attempted to install rockbox onto my ipod. When I rebooted it, it repeatedly restarted itself. Whenever I try to open the ipod in the file browser it will not mount and only shows up as "USB Drive" with an ipod icon. I opened the ipod with Gparted and saw that the partition size was only 7 gb when it is a 30 gb ipod.

with my ipod mini, the problem was caused when my computer mounted it automatically. I was able to use it fully when I unmounted it (umount /dev/[devicename] then mounted it myself using /etc/fstab.

Take a look at the last post on http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...=1#post3171720 where I found a solution- hopefully it will help you.

There are 2 partitions on mine. Don't know why but you may have the "wrong" one mounted. Perhaps the OS is being too helpful and mounting the device for you, as happened in my case.

Not sure what you mean exactly but I hope the above info will be of some use-
