hello,
can use an ipod with fc3?...linux doesnt recognize ipod's hfs+ filesystem....
if so then how do i mount it?...and transfer files between my comp and my ipod?...
The easiest way is to get onto a Windows machine, install the iPod software, and convert the iPod to a Windows type iPod. Then the iPod's filesystem will be FAT32. Linux can deal with that more easily.
the other thing is ....
if i install my ipod on a eindows machine (and make its filesys fat32)....then how do i mount it and access it...
itunes (the software available with the ipod doesnt work with linux)...and it is that which controls the transfer of files into the pod...how do i get itunes into linux?...
Have a google for GTKpod. It's a (Free) native Linux app which deals with iPods.
You'll still have to format your iPod though. (Well, that's not strictly true - Linux can deal with HFS+, but I had a whole load of problems using my iPod Mini, and ended up reformatting it for Windows. Much easier.)
