ipchains - "protocol not available"
 

I have uninstalled and re-installed ipchains but I am still getting this error message, what gives?

Not very many people use ipchains anymore so it's probably disabled in the kernel. You should be using iptables instead. Or if you insist on using ipchains then you will have to recompile your kernel and enable it there.
