Ip Multiplexing (IPMP) ???

I've just been given a server to install and afterwards cannot get the IP to connect to the network...

When I asked the network group to check the IP setup on there end they said it was setup with IP Multipathing (IPMP) and I would have to setup the server the same...

Can anyone tell me what IP Multipathing is and how to configure it ?? first I've heard of this .....
