Is there any way to obtain the ip-address of people through MSN (any client)?

Well, I'm not sure if you can do it without having them direct connect to you. However, if they're using hotmail and they send you an e-mail, their IP should be in the header. If you can get them to direct connect to you or send you a file or something, you should be able to do a "netstat -a" and see the connection.
