Internet Radio Woes....
Hello all,
I've installed CentOS 5.3 today, and have been trying to get one of my favorite radio stations working ( http://www.mountainchill.com) in XMMS, and Rhythmbox with no luck. I get the following message in Rhythmbox:
"Couldn't Start Playback:
You do not have a decoder installed to handle this file. You might need to install the necessary plugins."
I haven't found any suitable plug-ins either. Does anyone have any guidance to provide in getting this to work?

I use...
I usually use vlc or mplayer and its front end, smplayer, as an alternative. There are mozilla plug-ins for both but I use mediaplayerconnectivity to link file formats to players. This links all the types of streams I have encountered to a player, and it is easy to change the attachment.
Using several of the streams, I just heard the Cowboy Junkies on your favorite radio station. I'm not sure if that really can be considered a success or not. Here's an answer.

Installed the add-ons, and none of the streams would play. I got an error saying I don't have the right codecs. Being out of the Linux game for a few year, and just now coming back, where does one get codecs these days?
Doing a "yum xine install" now. After that finishes, I'll see what's what. Thanks for the replies, and keep them coming.

If you're wondering where I got those numbers, download any of the '.pls' playlist files or '.asx' or '.ram' and open them as text, it will list the location of the shoutcast server.
