Internet fonts... and general rendering

Hi I'm using mostly Opera to navigate the internet. I've been using linux for 2/3 days and I really find it annoying to have my site so badly render in linux whichever browser I use. First it is the CSS support that differs from browser to browser (I made it to follow Opera/IE standards) but the most annoying is those crappy fonts... I thought I was using standard fonts (arial, small fonts...). Also, sometimes I find it hard to read in linux browsers (opera or mozilla) because the default fonts used are either very small or big.... It is a mess!!!

See if you can get your hands on some of the M$ "core" fonts: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, Times, Courier, etc.
