I have a problem on internet connectivity. Let me explain.

I'm using webkit for the browser, and when I try to connect www.google.com, it does not connect. But if i use the ip address of this, 209.85.129.147, everything works.

First of i had a suspicion from DNS but it seems ok. Because when i try to ping www.google.com, it is working again.

I'm using an embedded linux, this problem on a MIPS platform, not PC.

But I think there should be some settings onto webkit and this should be same with PC platform.

Is there anybody who can help me?

It still might be a dns issue, could be ping and your webkit browser aren't resolving hostnames in the same way. Might want to check your /etc/nsswitch.conf and make sure dns is listed for the hosts entry.


You might also want to double check your /etc/resolv.conf
