hi guys,
I am not speakin thru my hat , but i really owe a lot of my linux interest to this forum. to tell ya the truth for a guy who is installin(and crashin) linux and tryin to figure out how things do work in linux, u guys are a helpin hand Please accept my best wishes and try to not get bugged by my "stupid" questions.

I am runnin a KDE on a Mandrake 10.1 o/s.My questions are:-

1. How the hell do i connect to the net (broadband)?
2.There is a flicker on my laptop screen(compaq v2000) when i run Linux. How do i configure the refresh rate?
3.How does one "install" drivers in Linux?
4.How do i detect my sound card?
5.My Laptop runs dual os(Winn xp being the other) . Can i read drives of windows from Linux and vice versa? pls advise?
6.Which are the best sites for downloading Linux apps?

and
ifconfig -a
