internet browser

Hi

i need some more info about web browsers....
i'm using mozilla 1.7.3.
good results because it permits me to block pop up...download files at
very good speet with his own ftp manger....
on the other side the application is very heavy to load
i'm running on a computer low on resources....
i read in the internet that the difference between mozilla and firefox
is that mozilla is the whole package (browser, mail client etc etc)
and firefox is only the browser ...
if i install firefox i will improve performances..or when i launch mozilla browser i will launch only the firefox part....
so changing mozilla with firefox it is the same regarding performances ?
i tried also text only web browser like lynx but the results are very poor...
only few pages can be displayed....
about web browser i want to know opinion of the users...
also about other applications.....
opinions about how heavy is the application (cpu & memory)
how fast is the http download ...
about features like pop up blocking ,picture disable etc etc...

thanks

Maurizio

I haven't used full blown mozilla, but firefox meets all of the feature set that mozilla browser does. I guess the only way to find out what works for you is for you to give it a try! I've been happy with firefox ever since I opened it the first time...very configurable and secure.

If you are looking for speed, check out opera as well.

Firefox launches faster than Mozilla. It might load pages a little faster. Mozilla is a real solid browser for me. Firefox can be a little buggy. Depends on the distro and how you installed it.

If you are looking for speed then Dillo launches and loads pages real fast. It does not render all pages correctly though.
