Internet Blocking Per User Per Daily Data Usage

Good Day,

I'm setting up a system for a friend. I'm using a Paspberry PI2 with Ubuntu Mate. I'm using the built in Lan port to the router and a USB Wireless card for WiFi.

I got this part working using it as a Gateway firewall. Now, the next step I can't seem to find the program I need, I was thinking about Squid, but seems like Squid can't do what I Need.

He has two Children, both use PC's, Cellphones and tablet for the internet. He want's them to connect to the PI WiFi using their own user name and password for all their devices, which will block them per their user name for a Certain amount of Data allowed per day. Thus if their combined data on their devices are up, they do not have internet access until the next day, when it resets.

Any suggestions on how we can accomplish this?

I would start with a traffic shaper, or use iptables (net filter)rules. But it won't be trivial!

I have no experience with setting up a captive portal but it with a radius server should get you going for the wireless devices.
