INTERNAL DNS server?

What software would I use for an internal DNS server that caches from the internet and serves up DNS queries to the rest of the network?

I have used BIND before but this seems like it would use different software.

no, Bind would still be the choice really. there is a standard configuration set normally an additional package called caching-nameserver package to do exactly that. if you do want a more informal solution, try dnsmasq, which is extremely simple to configure, but not suitable for large scale use.
