internal compiler error

I try to install alps-application package. The alps library installation was smooth and all tests passed. Unfortunately during make for alps-applications there is problem:
......
g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -DNDEBUG -I/home/tadek/ALPS/include -I/home/tadek/Pobrane/alps-1.3.3/boost_1_36_0 -I/home/tadek/ALPS/include -I/home/tadek/alps/lp_solve_4.0 -pthread -ftemplate-depth-150 -O3 -DBOOST_DISABLE_ASSERTS -fexceptions -w -MT spinmc_factory.o -MD -MP -MF .deps/spinmc_factory.Tpo -c -o spinmc_factory.o spinmc_factory.C

If the such window pops up in XP asking you if "you want to file a bug report with the devlopers" you can be sure it is not being used. Or perhaps for commercial purposes.

Filing a bug report in Linux usually triggers some action within DAYS however.

What you have looks like a real bug, that is, the compiler breaks at some otherwise errorless code. Read the error message carefully, and compose a bug report following the instructions very carefully and make sure you provide the developers with all the information they ask, including the output of the preprocessor.

In addition you can check if your compiler is the newest version (maybe it is an old version with an unresolved bug). Also check on Google, maybe there is a workaround available.

Assuming 'alps-1.3.3' and 'alps-applications-1.3.3'

No problems at all on Fedora 8.
A known issue could be 'boost' , version 1.33
will not work with some (many?) applications.

Boost_1_36_0 will usually work with them all.

If you have questions, your Fedora version is
important info !!
And if you are using some configure options,
please show.

Segmentation fault

I use Fedora 9
Linux tanka 2.6.25.14-108.fc9.i686 #1 SMP Mon Aug 4 14:08:11 EDT 2008 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
my compiler
g++ (GCC) 4.3.0 20080428 (Red Hat 4.3.0-8)
I have tried both:
supplied by fedora repos: boost-1.34.1-15.fc9(i386)
and installed by myself Boost_1_36_0
the error:
internal compiler error: Segmentation fault
always the same
Could it be the hardware problem?
regards
Tadeusz
of course its alps-1.3.3 and alps-application-1.3.3
I use blas and lapack supplied by fedora repos (3.1.1-4.fc9)

Fedora 9, lapack-devel and blas-devel included.

'alps-applications-1.3.3/mc/spins/spinmc_factory.C'
Code:
   189	    }
   190	  else
   191	    boost::throw_exception(std::runtime_error(std::string(parms["MODEL"])
   192	              + " model not implemented in file factory.C"));
   193	  return 0;
   194	}
I have no idea, why the error appears with g++-4.3
and not with g++-4.1 (line 194).
.. I get the same error ...
But I guess, that you are a c++ coder and will find
a solution.

(It seems that this app version is 1 year old, and at
that time there was no gcc-4.3 (and glibc-2.8))

Regards
